CROATIAN ASSOCIATION OF FINE ARTISTS OF ISTRIA (CAFAI)
CAFAI is a non-governmental, non-profit, and politically neutral association of professionals. It gathers visual artists of various artistic expressions.
CAFAI encourages contemporary visual expression, promotes and protects the freedom of visual expression, organizes exhibitions, cooperates with the local, national and international community, and is engaged in the protection of the social rights of the visual artists by participating in the making of the laws and rules regulating visual arts production.
CAFA is the traditional name for organizations of visual artists in Croatia. In Zagreb, Rijeka, Split, Osijek, Varaždin, and Pula such associations have existed for many years. They gather visual artists who engage in creative visual arts practice.
CAFAI members must demonstrate a certain level of artistic competence. Formal education is not the condition for becoming a member, although most members have completed art academies or art schools.
